We are seeking an experienced Building Services Mechanical Engineer to join our dedicated team at Computacenter. In this role, you will work across both Mechanical and Building Fabric disciplines, ensuring the highest standards in building maintenance are consistently achieved. As part of the Building Services Department, you will be involved in maintaining and servicing a wide range of mechanical systems, responding to reactive works, and proactively managing equipment and installations.
What youll do
- Maintain mechanical systems, including Air Handling, Chilled Water, LPHTW, and Air Conditioning systems
- Oversee Fire Sprinkler, UPS, and emergency generator systems
- Manage Building Fabric elements, such as Lifts, Dock Levellers, and Auto/Static doors
- Respond promptly to requests from Facilities, Security, and IS helpdesk
- Assist the Property team in repairing defective equipment efficiently
- Provide emergency response for essential equipment breakdowns
- Ensure regular maintenance of machinery and equipment to the highest standards
- Monitor Building Management Systems and liaise with sub-contractors
- Actively identify and rectify defects in a timely manner
- Support plumbing and mechanical installations as required
- Complete time sheets, task sheets, and manage stock control
- Order consumables and manage administrative tasks
What youll need
- Mechanical qualifications or general building maintenance qualification
- Proven experience in a similar Building Services role
- Working knowledge of Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) regimes
- Ability to fault-find issues with Heating, Hot Water, Plumbing, HVAC systems, and more
- Understanding of fire sprinkler, UPS, and emergency generator systems
- Basic PC skills and Health & Safety awareness
- Willingness to undertake general maintenance duties (e.g., lamp changes)
Desirable
- City & Guilds/BTEC in Mechanical Engineering
- Basic electrical skills
- Working knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS)
- Health & Safety qualification or training in the use of access equipment
